The pandemic was a real trigger for Proximus, which had to quickly support its physical sales network. In this context, they asked to set up an e-shop with all the products in the catalog of the physical stores and to facilitate communication between customers and stores via digital means.
The Client
Proximus is the leading telecommunications operator in Belgium. They offer telephony, cell phone, Internet and television services.
The Challenge
The challenge was to develop and deliver an e-commerce platform that could interact directly with the client’s internal systems in a record time of three months. In particular, we had to take into account the imposed graphic charter.
The Solution
We developed the web application using technologies like Ruby and C#. The solution was mainly presented as a project management on a very tight deadline and the possibility to work in an agile way by periods of one week. The site is located on www.shopmag.be
Proximus was especially looking for a partner who was able to deliver the site quickly while taking into account its technological constraints.
To make the application functional, we worked on integration with other services. We have implemented the Itsme© authentication system which ensures that the user is properly authenticated.
We also integrated the application with external calendar management systems and the health network of the three regions of Belgium.
Data security and GDPR compliance were paramount for Proximus. We were able to guarantee and set up the secure systems and data integration with the Proximus GDPR management platform.
